How could you refuse such an invitation? Especially considering who it's from : the Jazzman label...These are parties that no self-respecting groover should be alien to. This little London label delights us with its rare selections and compilations with Latin, soul and jazz inclinations.
The first track, "Welcome to the Party", is amazing in that it is the result of a social programme carried out by the percussionist Montego Joe in Harlem in the '60s.
No-one knows what became of this group of youths but forty years on, this story can bear witness to the fact that this programme of integration through music was not a waste of time or taxpayer's money.
