This Guru had a tribe and numerous and talented were its members. The rapper "Guru" has gone and all we have is silence in his wake....

Co-founder of the Gang Starr, with DJ Premier, Guru is also widely known for his Jazzmatazz project which brought rappers and jazzmen together for an experimental fusion of Hip-Hop and Jazz. On the first volume in 1993 we heard his collaboration with the great Donald Byrd on "Loungin" or on "Le Bien, Le Mal" with MC Solaar at the height of his fame and form.

Dead after 43 short years, Guru is no more. All that remains are his recordings.
